- All the flim that's fit to flam.
This guys work has been doing the blog rounds today. That's because it's ace. When his store re-stocks, I will buy a thing from him.
- What deux yeux have teux deux teuxday?
SLight annoying french spelling aside – if their iphone app is half as nice as their web app, and if they expose an api at some point soon, then I think Things may have been supplanted as my favourite to-do list manager. This is bloody lovely.
- Facebook's New Privacy Changes: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly | Electronic Frontier Foundation (via JWZ)
Essentially: whenever any of your friends posts an app, the developer of that app get all the data about *you* that they have access to. Facebook have completely fucked your privacy in the bin. I will be deleting my account at the end of the month, if they don't change it. (The only reason I'm not deleting it *today* is that I don't want to fuck people's social planning in the bin.) For refernce, after a bit of digging about in the privacy settings, despite the fact that I have my privacy locked down, under the new settings, here's what my friends were authorised to share about me, regardless of my profile settings: Personal info (activities, interests, etc.), Status udates,Online presence,Website,Family and relationship,Education and work,My videos,My links,My Notes,My photos,Photos and videos of me,About me,My birthday,My hometown. These setting were buried, and required extra password validaton to alter – they had gone out their way to make it hard. I'm done with them.

- Tiny Art Director
I make absolutely not comment on any similarities that may or may not exist between the Tiny Art Director and our clients at work. I will, however note that to date, no client has ever requested a "poo-poo airplane" as part of any work I've done.
- Oh, for God’s Sake, Newspapers Should Go out of Business
I know I've linked to similar articles in the past, but I rather like the spin this one is using, and I particularly like the opening paragraph: "Newspapers stopped working a long time ago and a better means of doing their job is readily available. It’s an asinine debate. Who wouldn’t want their news delivered in a form that was searchable, saveable, resendable, which you can talk back to, which is linked to other relevant news, which allows you to read as lightly or as deeply as you wanted to, and which combines text, pictures, and video?"
- Infinite Summer
A challenge: Read Infinite Jest between June and September. I've been trying to do this for years, but every time I have a go at it, I find myself distracted by some other book, and not picking it up again. So instead of treating it like a normal book, and trying to read it to the exclusion of all else until I'm done, I think I'm going to try and do it this way, spread out over a three month period. 7 or 8 pages a day should be no problem, and I can read other books on the bus. At least until I become hooked on Infinite Jest, and feel the need to start carting a tome the size of my head around everywhere…
- BPS RESEARCH DIGEST: The harm caused by witnessing rudeness
Yes: that twat shouting at someone else on the bus really is spoiling your day. Yes: your rude and/or unpleasant co-worker really is lowering everyone's productivity. Yes: Bad manners really are contagious.

An archive and commentary on some very very striking SF cover design. Well worth a look.
- BBC NEWS | Technology | Home Office 'colluded with Phorm'
My goodness, do you think I might be very, very angry about this? Why yes, I am. Someone please find me someone to vote for at the next election who actually possesses a principle or two.

Some of these are very lovely.
- Revolutionary Espresso Book Machine launches in London | Books | guardian.co.uk
This is brilliant, and I live near it, and that makes me happy. I shall have to go and find an excuse to purchase something from it.

- Six Grid Desktop.
Anyone who has seen my desktop will know it tends to er, fill up a bit. So let's see if this makes it easier for me to manage my home work flow. (I know it won't work in the office, because of the sheer amount of random crap I need to get swift access to in any given week…)
- Objectified: A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit
I finally got around to watching Helevtica (the film about the font) while I was away at the weekend, and it was really very good. I look forward to seeing this.
- k-punk: The voice of Weird paternalism
On the difference between Oliver Postgate's heyday and now: "There are no children, there are no adults, there is no wonder: only adolescents in waiting, being spoken to by screamingly selfconscious adolescents in their twenties and thirties."
- Simple White WordPress Theme
What it says on the tin. I'd need to play with it a bit to get it to work for me, but I do like the basic structure.
- Poolga. iPhone and iPod Touch wallpapers for the rest of us.
Yes, I shall be wanting some of these for my phone, for those times when I get bored of my own photos.

May of these are superb, and I would be delighted to own them. Just, y'know, saying.

- 2008 Greek riots – The Big Picture – Boston.com
I am torn between awe at these pictures, and horror at the events they depict. Even if you don't normally look at the photography links I post, you can't afford to miss this one.
