Further to that discussion on mr_tom‘s LJ the other day, here’s Moore himself talking about the films that have been made of his comics, and the ownership of various rights to his creations. Honestly, reading this interview pretty much convinces me not to go and see V, just because it’s all so basically fucking shabby.
I’ve been pointed in the direction of Deliverance as a place that does really good takeaway (although priced accordingly higher than your average takeout), but typically, they don’t serve my postcode, just the one next door. Bastards. Still, maybe they’ll expand their delivery area, or it’ll be os use to someone else.
Some weeks ago, I order my mother’s christmas presents, and amazon assured me that I’d have them in time for christmas.
They lied, and I am faced with trying to buy my mother something at the airport tomorrow. This is the second time they have fucked me royally at the festive season.
I am not the only one they have done this to. They’ve shafted my colleague, too. And he’s provided a bit of help for anyone else that might be in the same boat. Do us both a favour, and pass the link around kids.
(And in all seriousness, if anyone knows anyone that works at Amazon, and would be willing to put this in front of them in a serious spirit of “we’d like to talk to someone about the standard of service you provide”, then please, do let me know…)
In these troubled times we are living in, I feel that it is important to say, as loudly and clearly as one can: “Fuck you, Disney.“
And also to flatmates and anyone else that it might be useful for (Londoners, really).
I have been pointed in the direction of Firezza as a basically fucking excellent delivery pizza place.
Certainly the toppings sound good, but most importantly: a) you can order on-line, and b) by the meter. I mean, come on, who hasn’t wanted to order up a couple of meters of pizza at some point?
Just as I recovered from the weekend, I came down with a cold, but obviously, I haven’t done anything sensible like stay home. It is now almost week since I last went to the gym, and since at the moment, a brisk walk puts my heart rate through the roof and leaves me sweating in that unpleasantly diseased and clammy way, I don’t think I’ll be going tonight, either. I forsee sleeping in my future. It’s what I hate most about being unwell. All the pointless sleeping.
I’m idly wondering about paying for myself to go to ETech and SXSW Interative next year, because I’ve given up all hope of ever having a job that will pay for me to go to them, and I really want to go. Don’t suppose anyone else has got a job that would pay for me to go, if I sorted out flights and accomadation myself?
And on the geek project front, I’ve finally noticed Upcoming.org, which neatly spikes my big plan for the winter, by having got there first, and got almost everything right. I see that hirez has beaten me there, but is anyone else using it yet?
Now, more of that annoying sleeping I was talking about…

Just because, y’know, that’s the sort of thing that shouldn’t get lost.
