- panGloss: Mandy and Me: some thoughts on the Digital Economy Bill
A lawyer takes the Digital Economy Bill apart.
My own idiots guide to the DEB is at 1500 words and counting, and I'm not sure I'm even halfway through yet. So: serious question – if there anyone reading this who feels it would be useful for me to produce said guide? Is a guide that tries to use short words and explain the whole business practically from absolutely first principles worth it, or are you all going to go "tl;dr" and skip blithely past it? Who is there round these parts that feels like they don't know what's going on on this subject, and would like to? - The 50 most interesting articles on Wikipedia « Copybot
Dammit, these actually *are* that interesting. An absolute mine of weird crap that illustrates that the world is a pretty damn splendid place, when you get right down to it.

I will have absolutely no need of this kernel patch at any point.
- How To: Hackintosh a Dell Mini 10v Into the Ultimate Snow Leopard Netbook – Dell mini 10v hackintosh – Gizmodo
This would violate my EULA. Obviously, I would not wish to do this, because once I have legitimately purchased something, it is completely reasonable that that manufacturer dictate how I use it.

- Be lucky – it's an easy skill to learn – Telegraph
I shall work on this. I'm pretty relaxed, but I'm not as observant as I could perhaps be. Still, it's nice to know that "Be Lucky!" can be taken as an instruction, rather than just generic good wishes…

- 100 Thing Challenge
This lad is trying to get his personal posessions down to 100 Things. I was thinking about trying the same thing, with an “excluding Books/CDs/DVDs” caveat, but I’m not sure it’d be that hard. I might list 100 possessions, and see if I think I could cope.

- Virgin Media CEO Says Net Neutrality is “A Load of Bollocks” (via BoingBoing)
Using Virgin as your ISP? I’d strongly urge you to end your account, and find an ISP that believes in your right to use the internet as you, rather than they, see fit. If they get away with this, then other ISPs will too, and then we’re all fucked.

- 1.3 Megapixel Camera Sunglasses
Sad, I know, but I’m almost tempted. Dealbreakers: crappy resolution, no wireless connectivity. When the resolution improves, and I can auto-email the pics, I’ll get a pair. When they do that, they’ll be perfect for a project I’ve been developing.
- Timer: Work in 48 minute increments
I’m on a productivity upswing (I have made my peace with the fact that I have periods where I juggle about 47 projects at once, vs periods where all I do is watch the telly) at the moment, and this might help ensure it’s actaully sustainable.
