Mostly just as a reminder to self, and to others: none of this stuff is voodoo. If you would like to build a web page, you can learn to build a web page. Any kind of web page. It's really all just a bunch of typing, and nothing to be scared of.

The repository I linked to the other week didn't work for me for some reason – the main templates fell out without half the CSS and javascript. This handy guide saved me from having to actually dig in to the template to properly work out what went where.

Matt Haughey is retiring from Metafilter. I've never been part of the site's community, but I have always loved it, enjoyed reading the wonderful things that came out of it, and appreciated the work he has done in building the site, the community and the team that will now run it. I wish him every success in his future endeavours.
